Enrolment in studies
Right to enrolment
An admission notification entitles an applicant to enrol in studies. Applicants must enrol in the period stipulated by the relevant MU faculty. They receive a letter specifying the possible dates and place of enrolment and the enrolment procedure.
An applicant becomes a student of Masaryk University enrolled in the relevant faculty on the date of enrolment in studies.
Those who are unable to enrol at the stipulated time may apply for an alternative date, which must not be later than the final day of the enrolment period. If such persons fail to enrol on the stipulated or alternative dates, their right to enrolment expires.
It is possible to authorize other person to represent you in the enrollment process. This authorised person must present the procuration and identification card.
In the course of their studies, all students are required to comply with the provisions of the Masaryk University Study and Examination Regulations.
Enrolment and photographing of newly enrolled students
The enrolment of applicants accepted for studies at MU takes place at a place specified by the faculty in accordance with a fixed schedule. As part of the enrolment procedure, the applicants have their photos taken at ÚVT MU, Komenského nám. 2, Brno, room 014, or another place; information on the time and place is included in the letter with enrolment details sent to the applicants. Photos are only taken of individuals who are enrolling in studies at MU for the first time and so have no identification photo in the MU Information System.
Electronic photos of the students are needed for their student identity cards. The official Masaryk University student identity document takes the form of a chip card version of the internationally recognized ISIC student ID card, which is issued to each student. For more information see Student ID cards at MU
Students collect their student ID card at the
Office for Studies of their faculty at the beginning of the semester, unless specified otherwise by the office.
