The essence of project can be found in analytical description and evaluation of the Czech EU Council Presidency 2009. The Czech EU Council Presidency is interesting not just because of its importance for Czech republic but also for its impact for the EU. Supposing the Lisbon Treaty will be ratified until the end of the year 2008, the EU Council presidency will be significantly changed by this treaty. Czech EU Council Presidency will probably follow current norms and principles, on the other side it could partly settle standards for upcoming presidencies.
