Field of studyMolecular and Cellular Biology

The field Molecular and Cell Biology is focused on structure, interactions and functions of nucleic acids and proteins in bacterial, plant and snímal cells as well as viruses. The aim of this field is to use approaches of molecular biology to understand processes taking place in individua cells, tissues and organisms. The field is interdisciplinary and is based on approaches of biochemistry, genetics, molecular physiology and molecular pathology. Therefore, students accepted to the field of Molecular and Cellular Biology of the doctoral study program Biology are required to be familiar with molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry and genetics on master level.
