Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University appoints a selection procedure for the position

Instructor or Assistant Professor of the Department of Health Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine MU for the study programme Midwifery
(with shorter working hours – 16 hours per week)

The Department of Health Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine MU is an educational and research institution of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University. Provides teaching of study programs in non-medical study programs (mainly for the study programs General Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedics, and Intensive Care) and participates at the tuition of other non-medical programs and also General Medicine and Dentistry.

Location: Brno, Czech Republic


The scope of your work will be:

  • education of students in bachelor's (or master's) degree programmes including theoretical and practical teaching
  • preparation of study and teaching materials
  • supervision of final theses
  • involvement in research and development activities, including the presentation of results and publications
  • participation in the organisational support of research and teaching activities, including related administration
  • organising and participating in internships abroad for students and academic staff

in addition, as an assistant professor:

  • membership of state final examination committees
  • independent research and development activities, including presentation of results and publication activities
     

Required qualification:

  • completed university education in the field of midwifery (with the title BSc.) acquisition of professional competence according to § 18 of Act No. 96/2004 Coll. (non-medical health professions) or equivalent education attained abroad
  • completed university education in a master's degree in Healthcare Science in accordance with Act No. 96/2004 Coll. and the acquisition of specialized competence according to Act No. 96/2004 Coll., or equivalent education attained abroad
  • pedagogical education (teaching professional subjects for medical schools) is an advantage
  • professional experience in the given field (min. 5 years), teaching experience
  • capability of professional and research work including publishing activities
  • capability to actively participate at an international conference or professional seminar
  • fluent English (spoken and written)
  • fluent Czech (spoken and written)
  • active approach, initiative and willingness for further education
  • moral integrity

for the position of assistant professor:

  • completed education in a doctoral study programme or specialised competence according to Act No. 96/2004 Coll. and Government Regulation No. 31/2010 Coll. as amended
    • specialisation in Intensive Care in Midwifery is an advantage
