The government strictly limits free movement between country districts, students are not allowed to leave Brno in next three weeks
Due to the worsening epidemic situation in the country, the Government of Czech Republic announced new restrictions that will be in place for three weeks. Starting Monday 1 March, people are not allowed to walk or jog outside the town/city where they live during the day, for students in Brno this means the Brno city limits. The night curfew between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. is still in place, exceptions include walking dogs within 500 meters of residence late in the evening.
As of Monday 1 March, the Government of the Czech Republic also strictly limits travelling across the country. It is banned to travel between districts of the Czech Republic, exceptions include travelling to work, visits to the doctor and participation in exams at Masaryk University. All employees must provide the employer's confirmation for communing to work in another district.
There are 76 districts in the Czech Republic and this limitation means that students are not allowed to go to Prague or other cities for sightseeing etc. in the next three weeks. For work and doctors’ purposes, Brno-city district (Brno-město) and Brno-countryside (Brno-venkov) counts as one district, but leisure activities are limited to Brno-city (Brno-město).
