MU Internal Calls
Grant Agency of Masaryk University (GAMU)
In mid-September, detailed information regarding the open calls was published on the GAMU website. Specific conditions and important deadlines can be found on the websites of each call.
On November 16, 2020, a call will be announced within the Specific Research Support Program - Support for Outstanding Diploma Theses (formerly the Rector's Program). All information will be published on the GAMU website.
Open Calls
TA CR – BiodivRestore Call 2020 (Cofund Call)
- On October 6th, the BiodivRestore Call 2020 has been announced (deadline December 7th, 2020). The joint call focuses on conservation and restoration of degraded ecosystems and their biodiversity, including a focus on aquatic systems.

GA CR – LA grants CEUS (international projects evaluated on the Lead agency principle, with GA CR in the role of Partner organization), NCN Call – cooperation with Poland
- On September 16th, the LA grants CEUS Call 2021 has been announced (deadline December 15th, 2020). The Call aims to support international cooperation in basic research and is opened to applicants at any stage of their career.

- On February 22nd, the LA grants CEUS Call 2021 has been announced (deadline December 15th, 2020). The Call aims to support international cooperation in basic research and is opened to applicants at any stage of their career.

GA CR – Urgent Funding SARS-COV-2
- On April 6th, the Urgent Funding SARS-COV-2 Call has been announced (deadline December 15th, 2020). The Call aims at international cooperation with a direct reference to the current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

H2020 – Call ID: H2020-SC6-TRANSFORMATIONS-2018-2019-2020, published on 1st October 2020
H2020 – €1 billion European Green Deal Call was launched on 18th September, 2020
- On 22th September, 2020, 20 topics in 10 thematic areas were published; the topics are to tackle climate change, with wide scope of research desciplines to be potentially participate.

TA CR – EnerDigit Call 2020 (Cofund Call)
- The 1st Call will be announced in November. The international call will focus on digital transformation for green energy transition.

- On November 16th, the 3rd Call will be announced. The international call will focus on Diagnostics and Targeted delivery systems.

- On December 1st, the 4th Call will be announced. The international call will focus on Advanced Brain-Computer Interfaces for Novel Interactions and on Towards Sustainable ICT.

- On February 10th, 2021, the 4th Call will be announced.

TA CR – ERA-MIN Call 2021 (Cofund Call)
- On January 15th, the 2nd Call will be announced. The international call will focus on raw materials for the sustainable development and the circular economy.

Closed Calls
TA CR - 5. VS ETA
On 15 October 2020, the 5th call of the Éta program has ended. MU was involved in 56 project proposals with a total required support of CZK 156.5 million.
TA CR - 4. VS Environment for life
On October 27, 2020, the 4th call of the Environment for Life program has ended. MU was involved in 1 project proposal.
Grants Received
Ministry of the Interior – 4th call of program Security Research
On October 30, the results of the call of the Security research program of Ministry of the Interior were published. Of the 3 submitted projects in which MU performed, 2 succeeded. More information is here.
TA CR – BiodivClim Call 2019 (Cofund Call)
On October 12, the results of the BiodivClim Call 2019 were published. Only 2 projects with the involvement of entities from Czech Republic succeded, of which 1 project with the MU involvement. More information is here.
GA CR – EXPRO and JUNIOR STAR
On November 2, the results of the EXPRO and JUNIOR STAR Calls were published. Only 16 projects will be funded by the Czech Science Foundation, of which 6 projects at MU. Regarding JUNIOR STAR Call, 30 project proposals succeded in total, of which 2 projects with the MU involvement. More information is here.

SCI-CEITEC-PHARM Match Making Event
Introduction of the Faculty of Pharmacy research and discussion in the context of finding new research collaborations. Share research ideas, offer capacities and join forces at the introductory event on November 26, 2020. More information can be found here.
Research pitches contest
An opportunity for researchers to present their research with a short audiovisual presentation and win an interesting amount of money. Masaryk University is a founding member of the Compostela Group of Universities. More information about the competition here.

- Sex and Gender dimension in frontier research (16 November 2020, 8:30–18:30) - an online workshop organized by the ERC (European Research Council) aims to raise awareness of the impact of gender and gender on design and project implementation and on the quality and impact of the results.
- Webinar: Maximizing the Impact of Horizon 2020 Project Results (December 9, 2020, 10:30-12:00). The webinar will offer, among other things, an answer to the question of how to evaluate and maximize the intellectual property created by the project, how to treat IPR in a consortium agreement and more.
