The presented project belongs thematically into the history of modern philosophy. Its aim is to explore the contradictory religious core of German romantic philosophy in the period of so-called Jena's romanticism. The research concerns several significant authors and their essential texts on the philosophy of religion that led up to the constitution of the idea of so-called new mythology (J. Paul, Siebenkäs; J. G. Herder, Iduna; Lessing, Enziehung des Menschengeschlechts; Novalis, Christenheit oder Europa; Fr. Schlegel, Rede über die Mythologie; Schelling, Die Weltalter, etc.). The work on the project is based on the assumption that a detailed analysis of religious points of departure (the notion of myth, the conception of new religion, romantic reform of the religion of reason) is a relevant scholarly task, which results can help to reveal one of the roots of modern European thinking.
