| Description | The case report describes eight-year-old intact Great Japanese female dog, in which, after a short episode of diarrhea and lethargy was found complete atrio-ventricular block. Atrio-ventricular block persisted, the patient was therefore sent as promising, for permanent pacing. Laboratory tests did not confirmed deviations from the physiological norm, except for a slight increase in liver enzymes. Holter EGG examination revealed persistent complete atrio-ventricular block with bradycardia exceeding 85/min and with predominance of idioventricular QRS complexes, the minimum junctional complexes and occasional runs of ventricular tachycardia. Due to the history (partial mamectomy with suspected malignancy), was already made by referral clinic LL frame heart and lungs with a vaguely circumscribed mass after branching trachea. Thanks to suspected findings in pulmonary field and mediastinum, the bitch was referred to repeated ray examination. There was confirmed the presence of multiplied radiodense bounded units located in the right hemithorax. Given the patient's age and the need for a series of treatments, no view undoubted quality of life, the patient was, based on our recommendations and discretion of owners, left untreated with open palliative treatment. Nine weeks after the diagnosis establishment the patient died a sudden death. The owners refused an autopsy. |
