Description | Pain is among the first sensations that a person encounters in life and that accompanies them throughout their existence. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) define pain as: “An unpleasant sensory or emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage. Pain is always subjective“. In order to choose the right analgesic or analgesic combination, it is important to distinguish between acute and chronic, nociceptive and neuropathic, mixed and psychogenic pain. |
