Description | Drawing upon ethnography on experience of Slovak au pairs living in London in 2004-2005, this paper will show how au pairs conceptualize their au pair stays as a rite de passage and transient period in their lives, arguing that this conceptualization has practical consequences for both their relationship with their host families as well as for their future trajectories. |
