Description | The lecture introduces following topics step by step: (1) Singer´s hypothetical example with a drowning child, (2) an argument depending on that example, (3) how we should act, according to Singer, and (4) why we should act morally. The hypothetical example examines our intuitions about our moral obligation toward strangers in need. This obligation is also formulated by Peter Singer as the conclusion of his argumentation. Then, Singer gives us a reason for why act morally, even if his ethics demands too much from us. |
