| Description | The publication presents translation as a phenomenon that has long been a part of human civilization and culture and has had a significant impact on it. Thanks to the cultural knowledge and values disseminated through translation, mankind has received much of its culture and education. Translation as an intellectual challenge has always been very appealing – it gives a field for expression not only of language skills and competences in a foreign language, but also tests the knowledge of the native language, and places high demands on both the general knowledge about the world of the translator and to his specialized attainments and work with information in many areas of our lives. |
