Description | The study uses the analysis of historical sources, journals and legislative norms to construct three key factors applied in the transformation of the educational role of libraries - from the formation of the humanist intellectual in the first republican concept to the new socialist man typical for librarianship after 1948, and with greater intensity in the 1950s. At the same time, the study describes the transformation of the entire institution and the person of the librarian in light of these transformative shifts. It focuses specifically on the concepts of disciplining, collectivization and professionalization. |
