Description The authors describe a case of 62-year-old pensioner who presented with the clinical picture of generalized erythema exsudativum multiforme. Initial treatment with systemic antihistamines and local corticosteroids was without effect. After 10-day systemic corticosteroid therapy the progression of clinical picture was observed in the form of scaly patches. The same changes were noticed in other family members. All of them were in contact with the kitten of the British blue cat. Microscopy and cultivation proved the microsporia in all affected persons. Systemic treatment with terbinafine was successful.
