Popis | Upbringing of gifted child is one of the hardest tasks their parents can be confronted with throughout their life. The gifted child usually differs from other peers not only in child’s exceptional abilities but also in number of other signs and symptoms. In pedagogic-psychological literature written by native and foreign provenance, we meet number of new findings about specific phenomena, difficulties, obstructions and problems which affect gifted children in family and educational environment. The purpose of our study is to present picked findings from researches aimed at the description of causes evoking problems in child’s development. We also outline recommendations how to facilitate overcoming of these problems. We focused on problems associated with some gifted children’s characteristic features, the asynchronous development, the underachievement and problems with academic motivation.
