Choosing the Right Journal
This workshop will delve into the theme of strategies for successful publishing in high-impact journals, drawing on insider knowledge of Michael Rough, an assistant/associate journal editor and postdoctoral researcher in the LIVE lab at Texas A&M University. We will discuss in detail two important steps in the publication strategies:
- Understanding High-Impact Journals: To set the stage, we'll explore the concept of high-impact journals, defining what they are and why they hold immense significance in the world of academia. Additionally, we will unravel the mystery behind the impact factor and its pivotal role in journal ranking.
- Choosing the Right Journal: Navigating the journal selection process is critical in research publication. We'll discuss various factors to weigh when deciding on the right journal for your manuscript, including relevance to your field, alignment with your target audience, and the all-important impact factor. Moreover, I'll introduce you to valuable journal selection tools that can simplify this often complex decision-making process.
There will be space for questions and answers at the workshop.
The workshop will primarily take place in person (CVIDOS, Poříčí 31a, 5th floor, room 79), with the option to participate online via MS Teams. Please ensure you register for the workshop at least two days in advance. Registered participants will receive a link to access the session the day before.
