The topic that will be investigated as part of this project concerns the role that the Byzantine church played on the island and how its influence was decisive in the creation of important religious centres and the development of devotional rites related to Eastern saints. The project consists of organizing a trip to Sardinia to observe the selected object and its context of origin. A key part of the trip will be the collection of information, photos and bibliographical references useful for successfully attain the project and completing the catalogue for my doctoral research, of which this investigation will be an essential part. The main purpose is to provide an up-to-date catalogue of photos and observations of the selected object, including its current state of preservation. The artwork selected for this project is the bread stamp from the archaeological site of San Giorgio in Sinis (OR), now held at the Museo Antiquarium Arborense in Pau (OR). The project will involve bibliographic research in the libraries of two of the most important academic cities in Sardinia: Sassari and Cagliari. The duration of the project will be approximately 30 working days.
