Popis | The grains of maize (Zea mays L). var. KWS were exposed to low-temperature plasma (LTP) by using Diffuse Coplanar Surface Barrier Discharge (DCSBD) in the range from 10 to 600 seconds. The treatment of maize grains with LTP induced visible structural changes on the surface of grains. Increasing plasma exposure time reduced the weight of grains and increased grains' water uptake. The protein content significantly increased with the age of maize seedlings and exposure time of LTP. SOD and CAT enzyme activities were significantly increased mainly after 3 days, but in contrast G-POX activity decreased only after 6 days of seedling cultivation. |
