| Popis | Since 1726 the Royal Spanish Academy began to publish successive editions of the Dictionary of the Spanish language with the purpose to maintain the language in its purest state. However, the Academy was not the only one to care about the language. Intellectuals who did not belong to the institution took care of the state of the language on their own. One of them was Antonio de Valbuena. With his extensive study called Fe de erratas del nuevo Diccionario de la Academia he examined the 12th edition of the academic dictionary. We point to the objective of this work to discover the reflection of his critical work in the 13th and respectively in the 14th edition of the Dictionary. More specifically, we were interested if the changes and suggestions proposed by Antonio de Valbuena had been carried out and if the Academy recognized, or not, his work. |
