Popis | This paper presented the balanced set of interdisciplinary data related to various occurrences of Maitreya in Central and East Asian Buddhism. Unstable economic conditions and frequent changes of power and military influences from both China and nomadic people made the life in oasis communities cruel. It was the ground for spread of Maitreya cult through various linguistic groups and syncretic traditions in wide range from ancient Afghanistan to Korean Peninsula. Artistic depictions, citations from religious texts, philological notes and historical comments about the impact of wars on the economy and real life of people were main subjects of this interdisciplinary talk. |
