Popis | Human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) hold great potential in regenerative medicine. Their high proliferative and differentiation capacity enable gain of high amounts of cells differentiated into desired cell type, which can be used as a transplant to substitute for missing or malfunctioning tissue, or can serve as a model for drug testing. Undefined conditions using xenogeneic components are often used in research setting, which, combined with insufficient testing, makes hiPSCs application difficult. To fully utilize their potential, hiPSCs need to be produced in defined conditions and thoroughly tested. For clinical applications, cell must be produced in sterile environment, preferably in xeno-free conditions. We have implemented set of procedures to manufacture cGMP compliant hiPSCs, which will be part of Moravian bank of clinical-grade hiPSC lines and reprogrammed cardiomyocytes and neurons. |
