Popis Introduction: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) systems have been designed for imaging of the maxillofacial region. The images are reconstructed in a three-dimensional (3D) data set which can easily help in diagnosis. Radiation dosage is considerably less than conventional CT scanning and comparable to panoramic imaging. Objectives: The aim of this lecture is to make clinicians aware of the use of cone beam computed tomography within the field of orthodontics. Conclusions: Author uses Cone Beam CT for conventional orthodontic diagnosis more than 24 months. Presented clinical cases illustrate the improved diagnostic yield using CBCT over conventional radiography. Thus facilitate the appropriate treatment planning of patients.
