Michiel S. de Vries

World-renowned theorist in the field of public administration, dedicated primarily to developing the concept of New Public Management. Michiel S. de Vries worked as president of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) from 2012 to 2016. His research focus includes the Czech Republic as an example of the transition economy.

A proposal to grant an honorary degree of Doctor Honoris Causa in the field of Public Economics was submitted by the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University. The graduation ceremony was held on 20 October 2016. A brochure introducing the nominee was issued on the occasion of the awarding of this honorary doctorate.
