Investigating the mental and social development of adolescents
Už od poloviny 90. let se výzkumné týmy z FSS MU věnují psychologickému a sociálnímu vývoji dětí a mládeže. Vzniklo zde několik studií, které mimo jiné popisují životní styl dnešních dvacátníků.Since the mid 90s, research teams based at the Faculty of Social Studies have focused on the psychological and social development of children and adolescents. Their work has resulted in the publication of several studies describing – among other findings – the lifestyle of today's twenty somethings.

CAVER helps with computer-assisted drug development
A collaboration between the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Informatics led to the development of CAVER, a software tool for the computer-assisted analysis of protein structures which estimates the reactivity of a selected protein with other molecules prior to the launch of lengthy and costly lab experiments.

Cutting-edge equipment and state-of-the-art laboratories available at the Department of Archaeology and Museology interdisciplinary centre are frequented by both Czech and international archaeologists. The department's crucial importance for history and culture studies is evidenced by the fact that MU is also the seat of the oldest UNESCO Chair on Museology and World Heritage in the world.
