Open science requires the open sharing of technologies and expertise, but also of knowledge and data, enabling their further use and application in the public and private sectors.
Cutting-edge technology
Shared labs provide researchers and other users across disciplines access to unique technologies, research capacilities, samples, and data.
Interdisciplinary expertise
State-of-the-art equipment and unique capacities are operated by specially trained technicians and research teams, allowing the most efficient use of the shared laboratories.
Open Access
Research capacities are available not only to Masaryk University’s scientific teams but also to other national and international users from academia and private sectors.
Key documents and strategies
The ESFRI Roadmap is a key document for Europe. It includes the European research infrastructure projects and landmarks that have been identified as a priority for the development of the European Research Area. At the national level, the Roadmap of Large Research Infrastructures of the Czech Republic defines the so-called Large Research Infrastructures approved for funding from Czech public funds.

Database of infrastructures of the EDUC alliance
As member of the EDUC Alliance, Masaryk University contributes together with seven other universities in establishing a network of shared knowledge and academic values among universities from Western, Central, and Southern Europe. Within the alliance, there is a database of research infrastructures, where each member university provides access to infrastructures of various focuses for PhD students and young researchers from other partner institutions. Through this initiative, MU offers access to 24 research infrastructures. The total number of infrastructures in the database amounts to 130.
