About the position:
Position of lab manager/research laboratory technician is open for the group „Regulation of gene expression and molecular carcinogenesis“ that is part of Molecular Medicine program at CEITEC-Masaryk university (MU).
The research group studies regulation of gene expression by cyclin-dependent kinases CDK11 and CDK12 and their roles in onset of cancer. Job description:
- responsibility for day-to-day operation of the lab including the basic management of laboratory resources
- ordering all reagents and plastic for the lab
- preparation of various media and buffers
- share in performance of various molecular biology and biochemistry experiments (western blotting, PCR, cloning, expression of proteins, qPCR, immunoprecipitation and others)
- management of maintenance and service of shared laboratory equipment
- possibility to participate in research projects
Requirements:
- at least Master degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry or other related fields of life-sciences
- good knowledge of English (oral and written) and ability to communicate in Czech (or Slovak) are essential
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- high motivation, flexibility and self-driven interest to learn new things
- reliability, team player, meticulousness
- knowledge of "laboratory chemistry" - preparation of solutions with defined concentrations, adjusting pH, preparation of media for bacterial cultures etc.
- computer literacy, MS word, Excel, Power Point.
- experience with basic techniques of molecular biology and biochemistry such as cell culture, western blotting, PCR, cloning, expression of proteins in bacteria, qPCR, immunoprecipitation, RNA-based techniques and others is a big plus
