Course Opinion Poll
Thanks to the course poll, students can evaluate the courses they have taken in a given semester and give feedback to the lecturers as well as suggestions for further improvement of lessons.
Last autumn semester the course opinion poll was held there were more than 15,000 people who participated in the poll which is 48% of Masaryk University students.
The course poll is one of the basic tools of student evaluation of teaching at the university level. It allows all students to comment on their courses and instructors each semester. Since the fall semester 2016, it has been implemented in a shortened version and with the possibility to add custom questions for individual faculties. A manual is available for teachers to view and export survey results.
Students provide feedback through 6 questions. Two of the questions are course-related, so these questions are answered only once within the selected course, regardless of how many instructors are assigned to the course. Four questions relate to a specific lecturer or practitioner of the course or seminar group. These questions will be displayed for each of the lecturers separately.
The assessed aspects are:
- Benefit of the course for the student
- The amount of study workload
- The pedagogical skills of the teacher
- Teacher's preparedness for classes
- Transparency in the requirements for successful completion of the course
- Respectful behaviour of the teacher
The results of the course poll are posted in the authenticated part of the MU Information System once the data collection has been completed.
