Implementation:
11/2024 – 12/2025; the project was approved by the MU Research Ethics Committee on November 1, 2024

Goal:
The main objective of the project is to map the overall level of mental well-being, stress and related circumstances among Masaryk University students, as well as the possible occurrence of inappropriate behaviour within the academic environment of the university. The data will serve as a source of information for targeting measures to enhance the psychological and social safety of students, as well as for general research purposes.

Questionnaire survey:
The core of the project is to conduct a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire consists of standardised questions and uses a methodology based on internationally used definitions and procedures (reliability of results, enabling international comparison), and is distributed to learners in Czech and English. The questionnaire includes the following thematic sections: health, lifestyle, burnout, well-being, study load, coping with the demands of studying, sources of stress, status before starting studies, attitude of the teachers and general climate within the academic community, perceived current support options, inappropriate behaviour, time spending.

Target group:
Full-time students of Bachelor's and Master's (both long-cycle and follow-up programmes) studies. They will be approached in two stages. In the autumn of 2024, students in their second year and above will be contacted, and in the spring of 2025, students in their first year will be contacted. Students will be invited to participate in the survey by email. Their participation is voluntary.

Outcomes:
The results of the survey will be compiled only in aggregated form (MU level, faculties, or groups of study programmes). After the second stage of the survey is completed, the evaluated data will be presented to the university and faculties managements.
