What will you learn?
The Public Economy and Administration study programme is not only for people interested in working in public administration (at municipal and regional authorities, ministries, and institutions of these offices in operation), but for anyone who wants to understand the relationships between the public and private sectors, whether they later find employment in the private, public, or non-governmental non-profit sector. Students are encouraged to employ critical thinking during their study and strengthen their capacity for analysis and reasoning, gaining a deep knowledge of the system of public finance and administration and on the effective management of public funds, both on the part of public revenues (tax system, the administration of taxes and fees), and on the side of public expenditures in various spheres. Part of this field is also the issue of the non-profit sector, i.e. non-profit studies.
Practical training
The Department offers the subject "Intership" in each semester. Certain locations in specific firms or offices, other departments, if interested in intership, the student can find himself / herself and ask the teacher for the subject to agree to his / her enrollment and graduation. Intership, a student stays in a company or office must be at least three weeks (15 business days) - and usually not longer. Intership may take place at any time during the holidays, the examination period or the semester - however, the student intership does not entitle to an excuse from the compulsory parts of teaching subjects that are students enrolled in the semester. The total number of credits that can be student awarded for his/her graduation depends on the duration of the practice and on its complexity and must be approved by a teacher who also confirms the completion of the subject with a certain number of credits in IS MU.
