What will you learn?

The main objective of the study program is to provide students with extensive knowledge of sports management in planning, analysis, and assessment of the development within the environment of sports, based on the previously gained general, professional and theoretical knowledge (Bachelor’s studies). This ensures the set of blocks of subjects: economic-administrative, sports-managerial-economic and marketing, research-methodological, and ethical-historical subjects in view of the international environment of sports. It cultivates students’ analytical skills that can be utilized in the management of sports clubs, sports events, and sports facilities. The studies lead to the recognition and understanding of wider socio-economic contexts occurring in the environment of sports. Part of the profile of the graduate is also the practical knowledge acquired by completing case studies and mandatory practices in sports clubs and leisure centres. Systematic training in research methods using modern statistical and managerial methods prepares students for independent applied research activities for follow-up doctoral studies and for holding management positions in all organizations and institutions offering physical activities to the public.

Practical training

The mandatory part of the program is a professional practice accompanied by supervision in sports clubs.

Career opportunities

Graduates are employed in management positions (top management) in sports clubs, e.g. a registered club, a professional sports club. They are also ready for managerial and economic activities in sports unions, federations or associations. They find employment as managers in recreational and regional leisure centres, in institutions of all levels of public administration, as well as in municipal recreation, fitness centres, etc. They can also apply for positions within the EU administration and international sports organizations. Graduates can start their own sports agencies and companies focusing on sports activities or the production of sports tools and equipment.

Study options

Single-subject studies

Students have a pre-defined list of required courses, which are supplemented with selective and elective courses. The student pays full attention to the single field of study chosen.

Follow-up studies

Graduates of the follow-up study program have the opportunity to continue in the doctoral studies.
