Follow-up Master's degree in full-time or combined form. The language of instruction is Czech.
The programme can be studied as a single subject or in combination with another programme.
What will you learn?
Students of the Master’s degree study programme in Culture Management will be acquainted with the problems of economics, law, art, and other aspects of the functioning of cultural institutions, including public economics, economics of culture, and legal ethics. Orientation towards the understanding of both public and private support of cultural nonprofit organizations, i.e. cultural politics, is part of the studies. Students will be taught accounting, marketing, public relations, copyright, and cultural business management with its specific economic and management characteristics.

Practical training
Practical training is in the form of a 80-hour traineeship in a cultural institution as offered by a lector or chosen by the student. The course is intended for better understanding of the operation of cultural institutions.

Career opportunities
Graduates of the Master’s degree study programme in Culture Management will be ready to practically use their knowledge in the artistic, economic, and legal aspects of the functioning of cultural institutions, as well as in national culture politics and its system modifications in the Euro-American background.
Thanks to the combination of the theoretical knowledge of art and practically oriented economic, legal, and praxeological directions, graduates will be able to fulfil all the conditions for the execution of organizational and management tasks at different cultural and social posts in both public and private institutions.

Who the programme is intended for: The programme is intended for graduates of any Bachelor’s degree programme.
Subject matter of the entrance examination: The entrance test consists of questions, which are based on the requirements for the Bachelor’s state examination of the programme Combined Art Studies. In the test, the questions focus mainly on the personalities mentioned in these areas and on their works, as well as on the concepts mentioned in these areas. Thus, a general knowledge of the history of fine arts, architecture, music, theatre, literature, and film and the ability to date them in a given time period is expected. The classification of artists' names in terms of style, tendency, or period, a brief definition of their work and time classification. Great attention is also paid to testing the applicants’ knowledge of current cultural events, as well as personalities from Czech and international culture. Orientation in the current cultural environment, knowledge of the basic institutions of Czech cultural life, knowledge of the founding role of municipalities, regions, and the state, and institutions in culture are expected.
Waiver of the entrance examination: The entrance examination can be waived for applicants who have passed the Bachelor’s examination in the fields/programmes guaranteed by the Department of Musicology at FA MU with an excellent (A) or very good (B) result. Applicants can ask for a waiver for the entrance examination via the e-application form, section "Application for waiver of the entrance examination".

Criteria for evaluation
Pass/fail line of the entrance examination: 25 points (out of 100).
For a correct answer + 1 point, for a wrong answer -0.5 points.
