Nanosyntax: the why and the where
-
16 January 2018
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM - room B2.23, FF MU, Arna Nováka 1, 602 00 Brno
Prof. Michal Starke, PhD.: In this talk, I overview the 'why' of nanosyntax, its underlying motivations, how it contrasts with more traditional approaches and what the arguments are for the novelty. This will bring us to a few rarely discussed consequences of the nanosyntactic approach that suggest new and unexplored paths of research, such as a different take on the syntax-semantics interface (and the syntax-prosody interface), word-classes, idioms, etc.
