Lenka Zadražilová: Božské částice (Exhibition)

The exhibition project by artist Lenka Zadražilová, entitled Božské částice (Divine Particles), is a continuation of her at least three-year-long artistic study Sbírání prachu (Collecting Dust), dedicated to working with dust and its aestheticization. Where many intuitively find impurity and banality, the artist tries to lead the viewer to experience beauty and the extraordinary. Beyond the aestheticization of dust and its elevation to a work of art, the installation is also concerned with demonstrating our greatest subconscious antipathy towards it: layers of dust prevent us from seeing clearly the things through which we often define ourselves and are thus a reminder of their transience, including our own mortality. The current installation offers this experience, with laminated layers of dust providing a distorted view of the gallery space. Come and explore the question of whether beauty or rather divinity. Can be this seen in this unusual and for many unwelcome, impure, allergenic material?
