MU modifies white light setting, respirators won’t be compulsory
MU is modifying the rules in the white traffic-light system based on new government measures. The new rules will be effective as of Monday, 14 March.
Masaryk University to move to yellow level on Monday, 3 May
The MU Crisis Committee has decided to lower the risk level. Buildings will remain closed to the public but will open to students and employees.
Considering the current epidemiological situation, the MU Crisis Committee has decided that as of Monday, 3 May, MU will move to a lower risk level, the yellow level on the university traffic-light system.
MU buildings will thus open to students and employees but will remain closed to the public. The university will continue to follow the government regulations currently in force.
For example, most courses will continue to be taught online. Currently, in-person classes can only be attended by final-year students in practical courses; all students of general medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and other medical programmes; and students of pedagogy in practical courses or performing teaching placements in the nursery, primary, or secondary schools or in educational facilities providing institutional care or protective care. The maximum class size is 25, and all hygiene measures must be strictly adhered to. Each faculty will decide which study programmes will have in-person classes.
Students who attend in-person classes must take a COVID-19 test every seven days. This rule also applies to students who will take exams in person. The legislation allows for a maximum of 10 students to take an exam at once. Testing is also mandatory for students who are accommodated at MU dormitories.
A test is not necessary to access libraries or meet with teachers to consult on academic matters. The dean of each faculty has the right to limit access to buildings, so please make sure to get the latest information from your faculty.
MU still recommends most employees work from home. For employees that do come to their offices to work, there should only be one employee present in one office at a time. In-person meetings are limited to five people, and all hygiene measures must be strictly adhered to; attendees must wear masks, social distance, and use disinfectant.
Some types of larger gatherings are permitted, but only for a maximum of 25 people. Such events must be directly related to MU’s main activities. Examples include hybrid conferences, training sessions, and seminars organized by MU.
Celebrations and ceremonies will not be permitted.
Indoor sporting facilities, computer labs, and study rooms will also remain closed.
Libraries may switch from offering remote loan services to in-person services if the head of the economic unit of which they are a part decides so.
