The problem of the philosophy of history was not treated independently as yet in the Czech intellectual context in spite the fact that the Czech historiography and the Czech philosophy manifested a practical interest in it and in its problems. It is true that the philosophy of history has played also a substantial role in a more than one question in the Czech political life (see for instance the co calles dispute about the meaning of the Czech national history, the discussions about the civic society, about the non-political politics, about the orientation of the Czech republic foreign policy etc.) in the past as well in our times. This project want to clarify the basic philosophical, theoretical and methodological questions related to the philosophy of history.
