In the scholar tradition of the "Brno-School of the Art History" the notions of architectural "tectonic" and "stéréotomie" played always a very important part by the research of the artistic and architectural theory. Recently a swiss theoretician and scholar Prof. W. Oechslin has written a very subtil analysis of the notion of the "tectonic" in the architecture of the 19th century. The project, we suggest, will explore another notion of "stéréotomie" in similar (i.e. theoretical and historical) way. Project wants to apply some new methodological approaches to the architectural theory. The whole project will have two main parts: first, we will discuss the most representative theoretical texts on the architecture from the past, using the principles of architectural stéréotomie. In the second part, an analysis of the most significant architectural works (mostly from the Moravian region) will be associated with the research of the changing planning process during early modem times.
