Institute of Biophysics
- Responsible person prof. RNDr. Vladimír Vetterl, DrSc.
The cooperation between three laboratories of the Institute of Biophysics proceeding from the knowledge of the physical principles of interactions of nucleis acids and model compounds with metal surfaces and with ligands (tumor supresor p53, cytostatics) will be further developed. The cooperation will be aimed on the one hand to the development of a biosensor for detection of DNA damage and detection of the binding of ligand to DNA, on the other hand to the development of new cytostatics based on cis-Pt with a higher antitumor activity and lower mutagenic effect. New results can be expected especially due to the interconnection of the research at the physical, electrochemical and molecular biological levels, leading to publications in high quality international journals. The subject of the proposed project is up-to-date as it follows from the interests of manufacturers and their direct involvement in the project.
