To upgrade second degree professional in-service programmes with a view to meeting Uzbekistan's changing socio-economic needs.

Specific Objectives:
1. To create a unit for the analysis, study and monitoring of the developments of professional education and the labour market;
2. To design a programme (curriculum and syllabus) for the continued in-service Education and training of secondary school teachers;
3. To meet specific support needs for retraining.

Results

1. Established centre of in-services training secondary school teachers with properly defined functioning and financing arrangements;
2. Designed curriculum and syllabus for (re)training of secondary school teachers;
3. (Re)trained secondary school teachers;
4. Developed distance learning tools and information technologies;
5. Established unit for the analysis and monitoring of developments in the education sector and labour market;
