The large wave of social and economic emigration in the latter half of 19th century and in early 20th century, interrupted by World War I, was followed by post-war remigration occurred from Austria, a large number of countrymen - Czechs and Slovaks - left Russia tossed around by the civil war, and systematic remigration was organised for evangelic Czechs from Poland. Interest in remigration was also shown by countrymen in other countries. As a consequence of the so called quota acts passed in the USA emigration directions changed for new destinations such as Canada, Latin America and France. Emigration to the Soviet Russia will also be dealt with.
