Project Conceptualisation of security and its application on the Western Balkans region focuses on the
conceptualisation of security in the postbipolar world and the limits of application of security concepts in the
area of Western Balkans. It deals mainly with the conceptualisation of security on the state level and analyses
the role of the global powers in the process of formulation of state policies in this region. Project focuses not
only on the military, political, societal, economical and environmental security on the state level but it will
focuses mainly on the security on the level of human being - human security.
The main aim is to publish a monography which will map the current trends in the conceptualisation of security
and will focus on the security policies of the states in the Western Balkans region. The analysis will concentrate
on the main security actors (securitisation, functional), referent objects and will deal with the securitisation on
different levels of analysis. The partial aim is to publish two texts in the scientific journals. Supplementary aim
is the realisation of two courses on the Department of Political Science FSS MU (Conceptualisation of
Security, International Community in the Balkans).
