The aim of the project is to map the secular trend of height in the Czech Republic. The latest nationwide research of this kind took place in 2001 (Vignerová et al., 2006). Due to the limited transport possibilities, we intend to carry out the research only on the territory of five Moravian regions: - South Moravian region- Vysočina region - Zlín region - Olomouc region - Moravian-Silesian Region. In schools, the measuring of a body composition using bioelectric impedance will be performed on the InBody machine. InBody testing will also include a questionnaire focusing on diet and physical activity. By comparing body composition with body height and lifestyle data, we want to develop an optimal strategy to prevent obesity and optimal physical development of children (see our work by Grasgruber et al.). This is very important in the context of the forthcoming changes in school meals, which, in our view, have gone in the wrong direction.
