The project expands the analysis of contributors’ behavior when facing multiple public goods funding dilemmas. We address the issue under three different dimensions employing both laboratory and field experimental paradigms. Employing conventional laboratory-based experimental designs, we study (i) how the relaxation of traditionally assumed non-rivalry in consumption of public goods or community projects affects agents’ behavior both in terms of contributions to and consumption of such goods. (ii) The second study analyzes how the interplay between different institutional overhead policies and the quality of the respective public projects impacts on contributors’ funding behavior. (iii) Aiming to increase the ecological validity of this stream of studies, the third study is devised in cooperation with a nation-wide charity organization. Through a large-scale randomized control trial in natural-field conditions, this study explores donors’ elasticity to give at the variation of the multiple gradients (cause, impact, etc.) that are fundamental factors in donation decision-making.
