The Predictive Power of Contrastive Analysis and Perception of L2 Phonology by Native Speakers (POWERCA)

The aim of the project is to conduct research in the field of acquisition of second language phonology. The research questions are: Is it possible to predict the differences in pronunciation of Czech by Vietnamese speakers, by comparing the phonological plans of both languages? Is it possible to compile a typology of these differences? What is the impact of these differences in the perception of a native Czech speaker? The main methods are analysis using a spectrogram, and a perception test.
