This project focuses on qualitative ethnographic research on China’s ethnic groups – within the People’s Republic as well as in the diaspora. The aim is to support research on the various cultures, identities and societies within the PRC as well as the various diasporic communities. However, light will be shed not only but mainly on topics such as food culture(s) and representation of ethnic groups in movies. The findings of this research project will be presented in the MA thesis of some students involved in the project and also in presentations at a workshop, facilitated by students and/or an international student conference.
