Branching morphogenesis is an inter-species conserved mechanisms of functional organ development. Signals from mesenchyme/stroma are established as a crucial regulator of epithelial branching morphogenesis of many organs, including mammary gland (MG). However, regulation of stromal cell biology is not well studied. In this project, I will combine genetic tracing of Notch1 positive (Notch1+) fibroblast with single cell RNA sequencing to elucidate stromal hierarchy during mammary development.
