The project aims at providing Deaf, deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) youth workers learning a foreign language with a meaningful opportunity to work together and discuss approaches to foreign language learning, which does not come so straightforward to DHH individuals. This opportunity is an international summer school in the Czech Republic. The topic of the summer school addresses one of the areas that is particularly relevant for DHH individuals, which is foreign language learning and intercultural competence, including DHH culture. The objective is to bring together youth workers, DHH persons themselves, from different countries, youth work practices and foreing language experience, and have them join the summer school programme. The project participants are all involved in the area of youth work, being members or board members of Deaf youth associations who work to meet the current needs of deaf children and young people. Foreign language competence is part of these needs.
