The aim of the project is the examination of biblical propria in the original Hebraic and Greek layers. An analysis thereof shall indicate the role played in their context by the original, linguistically correct etymology, and the role played by secondary and re-signing re-etymologization that fills the name with a new meaning according to the context, i.e. from synchronic aspects. Consequently, resulting therefrom will be the rules for a general analysis of the phenomenon of re-etymologization that has been up to now examined in propria, and especially in the biblical propria, in a small extent, as well as the starting point for the method of synchronic onomatology in general.
