The project targets the activities of the Russian Federation in the Western Balkan security
complex, with a particular focus on the countries with a significant proportion of Orthodox
populations: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia.
These countries are at the center of the Russian federation’s socio-cultural and political vital
interest and focus. The project is based on a theoretical framework of influential operations
focusing on the military, socio-political, economic, and energy sectors with respect to the
regional and international context.
