The world is increasingly dynamic with globalization, new technologies, pandemics, wars, etc. In an ever-changing world, the environment and competition of organizations constantly evolves, and thus organizations have to be able to manage their knowledge and unlearn obsolete routines and knowledge to be able to avoid inertia and keep up with the change to stay competitive and avoid bankruptcy. Unlearning is a key process for organizations that aim to remain competitive, therefore getting a clearer understanding of it and its effect on performance, which is an important measure, is crucial. To achieve a better understanding of unlearning, an empirical study of its effect on performance will be conducted.
