The primary goal of the project is to create a core course in Academic Ethics that will address issues related to the ethical dimension of scientific inquiry, academic education, and selected current topics. The course will promote awareness of ethical issues in academia and the importance of ethical behaviour in science, research and education. Key learning outcomes will be the ability to identify and analyse ethical issues related to science, scientific research and education, to resolve ethical dilemmas in academia, to identify unethical behaviour, to understand its consequences and to understand the reasons for unethical behaviour. A secondary goal of the project is to help students understand the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of technology, particularly artificial intelligence, in science and education.

The subject of academic ethics should be included in the common university-wide core for several reasons:
1. Encouraging proper student behavior: the subject of academic ethics provides students with a basic understanding of proper university behavior, thereby helping them avoid inappropriate behavior such as plagiarism, cheating on exams, and other ethical transgressions.
2. Improving the quality of education.
3. Preparation for professional life: Knowledge of academic ethics is useful not only for students but also for graduates preparing for professional careers. Workers in many fields are forced to deal with ethical dilemmas, and if they have a solid understanding of academic ethics, they can better cope with them.
4. Raise awareness of the importance of ethics. Including the subject of academic ethics in the common university-wide foundation can increase students' awareness of the importance of ethics and its role in the modern world.
